We worked closely with Buckinghamshire County Council and their term contractor, Ringway Jacobs to deliver this much needed highway maintenance project. We undertook a walk, talk and build with the client, carrying out detailed surveys of both surface conditions and the surrounding areas.
The project involved planing out the existing carriageway surface where it had failed and resurfacing with 50mm tarmac including any associated kerb, drainage and ironwork repairs. Road closures were to be kept to a minimum to avoid disrupting the public which meant we needed to work quickly, efficiently and safely. We were laying between 500-800sqm per day. We also undertook night works to further reduce the amount of disruption to traffic flow during peak times. Work was mostly carried out during the day in live carriageways on busy urban roads.
We were responsible for traffic management and marshalling to ensure safe passage for both vehicles and pedestrians. Safety of operatives whilst working and the general public were of the utmost priority.
